Full job description
The Vice President of Sales will lead GumGum's sales efforts in markets West of the Mississippi, managing a high-performing sales team and driving revenue growth. Responsibilities include team leadership, talent development, setting sales goals, fostering a positive culture, building strategic partnerships, generating new business, expanding client relationships, and collaborating cross-functionally. Requires 10+ years in digital advertising sales, team management experience with a large book of business, proficiency in SalesForce, and willingness to travel 50%. Compensation includes base salary plus commission with an estimated total of $440,000 - $480,000 OTE. Remote work is available for candidates in Texas, Minneapolis, Denver, Utah, and Ohio territories.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales team in Outer Territories and Indies Sales Team
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented sales culture
- Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent with coaching and mentorship
- Set and achieve ambitious sales goals and implement performance management frameworks
- Promote a positive employee experience and inclusive culture
- Implement innovative sales methodologies and best practices
- Exemplify company values and ethical leadership
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets for the Outer Region
- Build strategic partnerships with key brand and agency contacts
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting and marketing leads
- Expand existing client relationships with upselling
- Drive sales activation and relationship development within key verticals
- Gather and communicate client insights to internal Product teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Managers, Strategists, and other teams
- Lead strategic sales initiatives with North American Leadership Team
- Travel extensively (50%) across outer markets West of the Mississippi
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Media or Marketing/Advertising field
- 10+ years of selling experience in digital advertising sales
- Experience managing a team to deliver a large book of business (15M+)
- Demonstrated experience coaching team members to improve performance
- Strong selling experience and track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time
- Proficient in SalesForce (comfortable logging meetings, calls, pulling reports, etc.)
- PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Uses Seller Crowd and checks the trades for updates on accounts
- Strong and strategic relationship building with clients
- Attention to detail and organization in daily tasks
- Quick problem solving internally and externally while managing stakeholders
- Fundamental understanding of business drivers (P/L, Operating Statement, COGS, Revenue, etc.)
- Applies analytical skills to interpret data and uses independent judgment and discretion in developing solutions
