Full job description

The Trade Desk is seeking a Trading Analyst in Tokyo to manage and optimize programmatic advertising campaigns for leading brands and agencies in Japan. The role requires 3-5 years of experience in a data-driven role such as programmatic, analytics, or ad operations, bilingual fluency in Japanese and English, strong client management skills, and advanced data analysis capabilities. Responsibilities include mastering The Trade Desk platform, driving client growth through optimization strategies, collaborating cross-functionally, advising clients with data-driven insights, and contributing to product enhancements. Familiarity with MS Excel is required; experience with SQL, R, Tableau, or Python is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Master The Trade Desk platform and become the go-to-expert on campaign management best practices
  • Drive client growth by owning optimization strategies for assigned portfolio
  • Translate complex data signals into actions that grow clients' business
  • Combine data analysis and client feedback to create optimization strategies and provide effective campaign solutions
  • Partner cross-functionally with Account Management and Business Development to support clients including onboarding and optimization training
  • Proactively advise clients and internal teams using data-driven insights from trading optimizations
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define features and drive platform enhancements
  • Champion The Trade Desk's value proposition, technology, and partnerships to deepen client relationships and grow accounts

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of working experience in a data-driven role (programmatic, analytics, ad operations or similar)
  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese & English
  • Excellent client facing & management experience
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic mindset with ability to identify opportunities for improvements and changes
  • Strong story-telling skills
  • Advanced MS Excel / data visualization skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to draw insights from extremely large datasets
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building new approaches in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Additional experience with SQL, R, Tableau or Python is a plus
