Full job description

TripleLift is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist focused on optimization strategies for their real-time ad marketplace. The role involves conducting research and experiments to improve traffic shaping algorithms, building and deploying ML models to production, supporting analytics projects with cross-functional teams, monitoring model performance, and providing technical guidance. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, 2+ years of data science or machine learning experience, familiarity with Python, Spark, AWS, Docker, DataBricks, ONNX, MySQL, Snowflake, Airflow, and ML libraries like scikit-learn. Strong software engineering skills, technical communication, and problem-solving abilities are required. Benefits include medical, dental, vision plans, flexible PTO, and 401k with employer match. What you'll do

  • Conduct research and experiments to improve traffic shaping algorithms and maximize customer performance
  • Build new traffic shaping optimization strategies and proof of concept ML models, and deploy them to production
  • Support analytics projects in partnership with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to influence product strategies
  • Monitor and measure statistical modeling performance, build dashboards and alerts to ensure model effectiveness
  • Build reusable modules and data structures, provide guidance and feedback to team members
  • Take ownership of complex technical challenges, demonstrate initiative, and champion engineering best practices and innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)
  • 2+ years of work experience in Data Science / Machine Learning
  • Familiarity with Python, Spark, AWS, Docker, DataBricks, ONNX, MySQL, Snowflake, and Airflow
  • Experience with ML libraries like scikit-learn for data analysis and prototyping models
  • Experience monitoring and measuring statistical modeling performance via dashboards and alerts (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Looker)
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, and writing clean, maintainable, production-ready code
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing expertise
