Full job description

Microsoft Advertising Measurement team seeks a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead execution of measurement initiatives including conversion tracking, attribution, cross-channel reporting, viewability, experimentation, and third-party integrations. The role requires translating product requirements into delivered outcomes, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing program execution, overseeing releases, defining success metrics, and ensuring data quality and reliability. Requires Bachelor's degree with 6+ years experience in engineering, technical program management, or related fields, with 3+ years managing cross-team projects. Preferred experience includes 12+ years in relevant fields, 8+ years managing projects, coding experience, and expertise in telemetry, data validation, and advertising measurement platforms. Position is full-time, on-site in Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA. Salary ranges from $139,900 to $274,800 annually in most U.S. locations, higher in Bay Area and NYC.

What you'll do

  • Drive execution for Measurement programs by translating PRDs into actionable execution plans across conversion tracking, attribution, cross-channel measurement, viewability, and third-party measurement integrations
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Privacy stakeholders to ensure alignment, unblock issues, and deliver on commitments
  • Lead program execution and delivery including planning, dependency management, risk tracking, status reviews, and executive communications
  • Shepherd releases end-to-end overseeing development, quality validation, launch readiness, and post-launch monitoring for measurement features and platforms
  • Define and drive success metrics partnering with Product and Engineering to identify meaningful success metrics and ensure telemetry and reporting are in place
  • Ensure data quality and reliability by driving solid practices around event pipelines, telemetry, data validation, and system observability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • Preferred: 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)
  • Ability to translate PRDs into shipped outcomes across multiple engineering teams and systems
  • Expertise in dependency management, risk mitigation, planning, and release execution
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level updates
  • Experience working closely with Engineering Managers and Software Engineers in highly technical environments
  • Technical fluency with event pipelines, telemetry systems, data quality validation, and large-scale data processing
  • Experience with advertising measurement, conversion tracking, attribution, experimentation, or analytics platforms
