Full job description

Looking for a junior or mid-level software engineer to develop Snowflake native apps and Java backend applications. Must have knowledge of Python, SQL, Java, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities include collaborating with developers and users to produce features, following Agile methodologies, participating in full software development lifecycle, and adhering to best practices such as test-driven development and continuous integration. Requirements include a BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, 1+ years experience, proficiency in object-oriented and functional programming, knowledge of algorithms and data structures, good communication skills, and familiarity with Unix/Linux environments. Desired skills include JVM expertise, AWS services (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, SQS), RESTful API, and MapReduce principles.

What you'll do

  • Drive innovation by collaborating with developers and end users to produce critical features
  • Follow Agile principles to deliver incremental value within expected time frames
  • Participate in full software development life cycle from requirement gathering to release
  • Collaborate with architects and senior developers to design and implement technical solutions
  • Follow development best practices including test-driven development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and version control branching strategies
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive, and enjoyable team environment

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years’ work experience in engineering or development
  • Proficient with object oriented and functional programming principles
  • Knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Familiar with Algorithms and Data structures
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to learn and stay on top of latest technologies and frameworks
  • Understanding of code reusability, security and performance concerns
  • Familiarity with test driven development
  • Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments and with command-line tools
