The Trade Desk is seeking a senior backend engineer for its Ventura OS project focused on next-generation TV operating systems and streaming technology. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines using Apache Spark and other big data technologies. Responsibilities include developing efficient data workflows, creating secure APIs, collaborating with data scientists, building scalable data integration solutions, implementing monitoring, optimizing data storage, and contributing to data infrastructure architecture. Candidates should have 7+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in data engineering, expertise in data warehousing (Vertica, Snowflake, Databricks), big data tools (Spark, Kafka), programming languages (Java, Scala, Python), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and containerization (Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of data governance, machine learning pipelines, content metadata management, recommendation systems, and distributed systems is required. The position is full-time, located in Bellevue, Washington. Salary range is $137,300 to $251,800 USD.
