Full job description

Viant Technology seeks a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to lead development of cross-platform mobile applications for TVision’s audience measurement panel on iOS and Android. The role involves collaborating with data science, backend, and operations teams to build reliable, scalable, and privacy-conscious mobile apps that track user activity and content engagement. Responsibilities include designing user interfaces, ensuring high performance and uptime, implementing secure data collection, and contributing to technical architecture. Requirements include 8+ years software development experience, 4+ years mobile app development on iOS and Android, knowledge of mobile architecture, backend APIs, Python environments, UI design, and privacy controls. Benefits include fully paid health insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO. The position is full-time based in Boston, Massachusetts. Salary range is $180,000 to $210,000.

What you'll do

  • Design and build cross-platform mobile applications that power TVision’s audience measurement panel across iOS and Android
  • Partner with data scientists and measurement engineers to implement continuous, second-by-second activity tracking and content recognition features
  • Collaborate with device and panel operations teams to deliver a seamless mobile experience for panelists, including device health monitoring and account management
  • Develop intuitive, accessible user interfaces that improve engagement and usability for diverse panel audiences
  • Ensure high reliability and uptime through robust testing, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Implement secure data collection frameworks that uphold strict privacy and compliance standards for personally identifiable information
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction as a senior member of the mobile engineering team
  • Work cross-functionally with backend engineers to integrate APIs, data pipelines, and real-time measurement systems

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • 4+ years building mobile applications across iOS and Android
  • Strong understanding of mobile platform architecture, performance optimization, and cross-platform development patterns
  • Experience working with backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines (Python-based environments a plus)
  • Familiarity with user interface design, usability testing, and accessibility best practices
  • Experience implementing authentication, authorization, and privacy controls for sensitive user data
  • Exposure to browser-based front-end development or full-stack environments
