Full job description

Zeta Global is seeking a senior software engineer to own and operate vertical web applications from idea to production. The role involves backend architecture and development using Python, Java, Ruby, or Node.js, frontend development with React/TypeScript/Ant Design System, and integration with backend APIs (REST, Thrift). Candidates must have 10+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in at least two backend languages, solid frontend skills, and experience with continuous delivery, test-driven development, and agile practices. The engineer will use AI-assisted development tools and integrate AI/LLM capabilities into applications. Responsibilities include collaborating across teams, mentoring engineers, and leading technical initiatives. The position is full-time, on-site in San Francisco, CA, with a salary range of $200,000 to $220,000. What you'll do

  • Own vertical web applications from idea to production
  • Work closely with product owners to define problems and design architecture
  • Build backend services with Python, Java, Ruby, or Node.js focusing on simplicity and reusability
  • Build polished frontend experiences in React/TypeScript/Ant Design System
  • Integrate frontend with backend APIs (REST, Thrift)
  • Ship continuously and confidently through CI/CD with observability, resilience, and reliability
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as part of workflow
  • Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into vertical applications
  • Collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives
  • Communicate complex decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • History of owning and operating the systems you build
  • Deep proficiency in at least two of Python, Java, Ruby, or Node.js
  • Solid React/TypeScript skills on the frontend
  • Experience with continuous delivery, test-driven development, agile and shift-left practices
  • Comfortable building and operating scalable, distributed, high performant systems
  • Experience navigating multi-tenant, compliant environments
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini, Codex, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with product owners
  • Ability to propose architectures, build consensus across teams, and execute
