Full job description

Moloco seeks a senior Staff Data Scientist for its Growth Data Science team to bridge commercial advertiser objectives and technical product direction. The role involves partnering with top advertisers to optimize campaign performance, translating insights into product roadmap signals, building scalable activation frameworks, influencing product strategy, and leading global frameworks across regions. Requirements include 8+ years in data science or related fields, strong experimental design and statistical skills, proficiency in Python and SQL, excellent communication, and leadership capabilities. What you'll do

  • Partner directly with Moloco’s top tier of advertisers to maximize value from Moloco product suite, advising on campaign structure, measurement, bidding strategy, and optimization levers
  • Translate account insights into product roadmap signals and feed structured product and GTM feedback upwards
  • Set the standard for GDS advertiser engagement as a model others learn from
  • Build and scale activation frameworks for regional GDS teams to move from ad hoc activation to repeatable, scalable models
  • Serve as a senior technical voice from GDS in product conversations to influence roadmap decisions
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback and market signals to product and engineering
  • Partner with product DS and engineering teams to define success metrics, design experiments, and evaluate new product features before and after launch
  • Translate complex advertiser problems into clear product requirements and value propositions
  • Define and own the GDS approach to product activation globally, building frameworks, tools, and best practices
  • Act as a thought leader within GDS, setting high standards for analytical rigor, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional influence
  • Work across AMER, EMEA, and APAC GDS teams to ensure consistency in product go-to-market and customer insight feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience)
  • 8+ years in data science, analytics, or a closely related quantitative field, with significant time in a customer-facing or product-facing IC capacity
  • Strong foundation in experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, and causal inference methods
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with large-scale data platforms (e.g., BigQuery) preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences up to C-level
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain credibility with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, sales, and GTM functions
  • Proven ability to own projects end-to-end in ambiguous problem spaces, with a track record of driving them to measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated self-direction and senior-level judgment
  • Comfortable operating without a playbook and building one where none exists
