Full job description

The Trade Desk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 6-8 years of experience in network automation and operations supporting large-scale production infrastructure. The role involves designing, building, and scaling a global network platform across physical datacenters and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud). Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex network issues, leading root cause analysis and postmortems, automating workflows, and participating in a global on-call rotation. Candidates must have deep expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Kubernetes networking (Cilium, Calico), container network interfaces, software load balancers (NGINX Ingress, Envoy, HAProxy), and advanced networking technologies such as IPv6, SDN, and QoS. Experience with network operating systems (SONiC, Cisco IOS, JunOS, Arista EOS, Nokia SR Linux), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), infrastructure as code, DevOps and SRE principles, and programming in Python or Go is required. Experience integrating AI tools into engineering processes is a plus. The position is located in Sydney, Australia.
