The Trade Desk is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for their AI Enablement team. The role involves designing and deploying intelligent agentic systems integrating large language models with enterprise data and workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Semantic Kernel. Responsibilities include developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation applications, building agents with Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and similar platforms, and delivering conversational agents that provide measurable business value. The engineer will collaborate across teams, lead through ambiguity, and mentor teammates. Requirements include 8-10+ years of software engineering experience, 1-2+ years with AI-powered systems, proficiency in Python, and familiarity with C#, SQL, or TypeScript/React. Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, data ingestion, vector databases, and strong communication skills are essential. The position is full-time, senior level, located in Bellevue, Washington. Salary range is $124,900 to $228,900 USD. What you'll do
- Design and deploy intelligent agentic systems integrating LLMs with enterprise data, tools, and workflows
- Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications using Azure AI Search, vector databases, and secure connectors
- Build and deploy agents using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Anthropic Claude, and similar platforms
- Build and iterate conversational agents to solve real-world problems and deliver business value
- Collaborate across teams, lead through ambiguity, and align technical solutions with business goals
- Drive quality and performance through automated testing, monitoring, and data-driven evaluation
- Mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or relevant engineering-related field or equivalent experience
- 8-10+ years of software engineering experience
- 1-2+ years working on AI-powered systems or products
- Proficient in Python
- Comfortable with C#, SQL, or TypeScript/React
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel) and prompt engineering
- Experience productionizing applications and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Skilled in data ingestion and transformation using APIs, ETL pipelines, and connectors
- Familiar with vector databases and retrieval strategies
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems creatively
