Full job description

Senior Data Scientist role focused on statistical modeling to provide actionable insights into marketing campaign effectiveness. Responsibilities include exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, optimizing and adapting modeling packages, staying current with causal inference and experimental design, translating business problems into mathematical models, code reviews, and collaboration with product and engineering teams. Requirements include 5+ years industry experience with a BA/BSc or 2+ years with MSc/PhD in sciences or engineering, strong knowledge of regression modeling, statistical testing, experimental design, and proficiency in Python scientific stack. Nice to have skills include SQL, Bayesian techniques, AWS, probabilistic programming libraries, and marketing analytics knowledge. Salary range $89,000 - $161,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. On-site position at NYC Global HQ.

What you'll do

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, engineer features to build statistically sound models that are interpretable and align with domain knowledge
  • Adapt, optimize, and iterate on current modelling packages, modifying open source packages to meet needs
  • Stay up to date with the latest causal inference and experimental design techniques
  • Translate complex business asks into rigorous mathematical problems and communicate results as clear, actionable business insights to external stakeholders
  • Provide code reviews and feedback on system/model design for team members
  • Work closely with product and engineering to integrate data science projects into the Rockerbox platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience with a BA or BSc in sciences or engineering or 2+ years of industry experience with a MSc or PhD degree in sciences or engineering
  • Strong knowledge of regression modelling, statistical testing and experimental design
  • Proficiency in scientific Python stack (NumPy, Pandas, Statsmodels, Matplotlib etc.)
