Full job description

Build and maintain software systems for ad performance measurement at Internet scale. Develop petabyte-scale data pipelines and services using Spark, EMR, Java, and other big data technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions. Apply engineering best practices and contribute to technical design discussions. Requires 3+ years professional software development experience, 5+ years full software development life cycle experience, 2+ years with big data technologies, and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and deliver software that produces measurement data consumed across Amazon's full advertising suite
Build and maintain petabyte-scale data pipelines and services using technologies like Spark, EMR, and Java
Apply architectural approaches and design patterns to deliver maintainable, scalable, and well-tested solutions
Navigate complex software challenges with creative problem-solving
Collaborate with cross-functional partners including scientists, product managers, and engineers
Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, testing strategies, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Contribute to technical design discussions, identify trade-offs, and propose balanced solutions

Requirements

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
2+ years of big data technologies experience such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
