Full job description

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Snowflake Data Governance Steward/Engineer 3 for its Data Management and Platforms team. The role involves designing and developing data engineering applications in Snowflake, implementing data governance and advanced data controls (RBAC/ABAC), and supporting BI systems using SQL and ETL tools. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions, present data governance best practices, author standards, and assist in developing guidelines. Requires 5+ years experience in data governance, analysis, or engineering, strong Snowflake SQL skills, and a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field. Experience with BI tools, ETL, Salesforce, advertising technology, and FreeWheel products is a plus. The role requires strong communication skills, ability to work with diverse teams, and adherence to project timelines. Work is performed during Eastern Standard Hours. Salary ranges from $98,707.93 to $177,674.27 depending on location and experience.

What you'll do

  • Design new software and Data Engineering applications in the Snowflake Environment
  • Apply engineering methodologies and concepts in Snowflake and related technologies
  • Develop advanced Snowflake SQL and ETL code for BI Systems support
  • Implement Snowflake standards and best practices
  • Implement advanced data controls (RBAC/ABAC) in Snowflake and internal tools
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to create solutions
  • Employ platform best practices to deliver world-class solutions
  • Conduct presentations on Data Governance and Snowflake best practices
  • Author and review Data Governance and Snowflake standards and best practices
  • Assist Trust and Standards Management in developing standards and guidelines
  • Apply process design and redesign skills and defend architectural choices
  • Apply project management skills
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
  • Work Eastern Standard Hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience in Data governance, Data Analysis, and/or Data Engineering
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Architecture, Best Practices, and Implementation
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake SQL Development
  • Data Governance implementation and design experience is a major plus
  • RBAC/ABAC design and implementation experience is a plus
  • Experience with Visualization BI tools (Looker and Tableau is a plus)
  • Experience with Fivetran or other ETL Tools is a plus
  • Experience with SalesForce.com Service Cloud Development is a plus
  • Experience in Advertising Technology is a major plus
  • Experience with FreeWheel Data and Products (MRM, Beeswax, Strata) is a plus
  • Experience with Atlan or other Data Tools is a plus
  • Ability to drive software development activities to meet project schedules and timelines
  • Ability to ensure code quality is high with supporting unit tests
  • Must have the ability to scope the technical portion of a project, estimate effort, and develop/architect individual solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical groups
  • Team player with ability to work with cross-functional and geographically diverse teams
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred
