FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for its Data SRE team in Chicago. The role involves ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of data systems by managing infrastructure, optimizing system reliability, automating operations, and resolving technical issues affecting data pipelines and backend platforms. Responsibilities include system monitoring, automation tool development, performance optimization, incident response, capacity planning, documentation, security compliance, and cross-team collaboration. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years experience in SRE, DevOps, or Data Operations, proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), big data technologies (Kafka, Hadoop, Spark), distributed storage (Cassandra, HDFS, AWS S3), database management (NoSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker), CICD pipelines, programming skills (Python, Go, Java, Scala), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are required. Bonus skills include experience with Aerospike, Snowflake, containerization, microservices, large-scale distributed systems, data quality management, and audience targeting products. Salary range is $99,684.63 to $149,526.95 annually. This is a full-time, on-site position in Chicago, Illinois.
