Microsoft Advertising is hiring a Service Engineer II to build automation and full-stack tools, improve reliability, quality, and customer experience on the Microsoft Advertising platform. Responsibilities include investigating complex technical issues, designing AI-driven automation, writing production-quality code, performing root-cause analysis, maintaining automated tests, communicating during live-site events, analyzing escalation data, and documenting troubleshooting resources. Requires Bachelor's degree and 2+ years technical experience or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees and 3-5+ years experience in software or service engineering, experience with Microsoft Advertising or ad tech, proficiency in programming languages (Python, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, Java), SQL, cloud and distributed systems (preferably Azure), modern web and API technologies, and AI-assisted tools. Strong communication, documentation, collaboration skills, and occasional on-call work required. Location: Shanghai, China. On-site work expected.
