FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Software Engineering for Audience and Measurement (SEAM) team. The role involves leading technical design and delivery of complex software solutions focused on automation, analytics, and cloud optimization across multiple teams. Responsibilities include architecting reusable software, data pipelines, dashboards, and automation; partnering with engineering and finance leadership to define and validate cost savings; diagnosing inefficiencies in distributed services; designing AI-enabled forecasting and anomaly detection; ensuring scalable, secure cloud-native services; owning integration quality; supporting capacity planning and cost allocation; developing automated tests; mentoring junior engineers; and communicating technical and financial outcomes to stakeholders. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years of software engineering experience with languages such as Python, Go, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Rust, or Scala; deep experience with major cloud providers; proficiency with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, microservices, containers, and orchestration platforms; strong SQL and data platform skills; and strong collaboration and communication abilities. Bonus points for adtech or advertising industry experience and knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or AI-assisted engineering. The position is full-time, based in Chicago, Illinois, with a salary range of $129,515.93 to $194,273.89.
