Microsoft Advertising's Ads Data Platform Team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington. The role involves designing and operating high-scale, high-performance systems processing billions of events daily through near-real-time and offline pipelines. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define feature requirements, designing secure and compliant systems, implementing high-quality and maintainable features, maintaining live services with on-call rotations, improving developer tools, and optimizing distributed system performance. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, and the ability to pass Microsoft security screenings. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree with 6+ years experience or a Bachelor's with 10+ years experience, Azure experience, machine learning and online system design experience, and 2+ years with distributed systems and big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Flink, and Scala. The position is full-time, on-site, and offers a salary range of $119,800 to $234,700 annually in the U.S., with higher ranges in specific metro areas.
