The Ads Data Platform Team at Microsoft Advertising is hiring a Senior Software Engineer based in Redmond, WA. The role involves designing and operating high-scale, high-performance data systems processing billions of events daily, building data applications impacting Microsoft Ads growth, and working with distributed systems, machine learning, and big data technologies. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define feature requirements, designing secure and compliant systems, implementing and reviewing code, maintaining live services with on-call rotations, improving developer tools, and optimizing system performance. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, and passing Microsoft security screenings. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or 10+ years experience, Azure experience, machine learning and online system design experience, and 2+ years with distributed systems and big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Flink, and Scala. The position is full-time and on-site with a salary range of $119,800 to $234,700 annually in the U.S., higher in select metro areas.
