Senior Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead cross-team engineering efforts to build business critical products for publishers and buyers on the Monetize platform
• Collaborate with a team of engineers
• Own significant areas of the Monetize real-time platforms and function as the architect
• Participate in setting the roadmap and direction for areas of responsibility
• Design and implement scalable platform solutions, including new features and enhancements
• Help lead planning sessions with Product Management and Engineering leads to define feature requirements and specifications
• Quickly build prototype features and gather client feedback
• Drive innovation through new features, improved build processes, and a more solid product development lifecycle
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code efficiency, maintainability, and robustness
• Support and debug production issues, delivering timely fixes
• Mentor junior engineers in software development best practices
• Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for features
• Contribute to identification of dependencies and development of design documents with little oversight
• Create and implement code for products, services, or features, reusing code as applicable
• Break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product for issues and restore service for simple problems
• Stay current in skills and developments to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience
• 3 years experience building large scale distributed systems with coding in C/C++, C#, Rust, or Go languages
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
• Preferred: Experience building high performance, multi-threaded, distributed systems and applications, preferably in a Linux environment
• Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Go, Rust
• Preferred: Experience practicing advanced optimization techniques
• Preferred: Solid fundamental understanding of generalized architecture patterns and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Preferred: Excellent Computer Science fundamentals with regards to data structures, algorithms, time complexity
