Full job description
The Trade Desk is seeking a mid-level full-stack engineer to design and build scalable web experiences for the Open TTD platform, which connects advertisers, data providers, and inventory sellers to their DSP ecosystem. Responsibilities include frontend development with React, backend services and APIs (authentication, access control, search, documentation tools), collaborating with product and UX teams, owning features end-to-end, and participating in design and code reviews. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience building complex web applications, be comfortable with React, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and backend languages such as C#. Strong communication skills and a focus on code quality and maintainability are required. The role is based in Sydney. Salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 USD. What you'll do
- Design and build high-quality, scalable web experiences within the Open TTD platform
- Develop persona-based spaces, shell architecture, and embedded application integrations
- Contribute to backend services and APIs including authentication flows, access control, search, documentation authoring tools, and partner onboarding
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and partner engineering teams to translate requirements into maintainable solutions
- Own features end-to-end from scoping and design through implementation, testing, and production monitoring
- Participate in design reviews and code reviews to drive technical quality
- Help evolve the technical architecture of OpenTTD to support new personas, embedded applications, and integrations with The Trade Desk’s broader platform
Requirements
- Strong frontend and full-stack development skills
- Production experience building complex web applications, ideally large-scale portals or developer-facing platforms
- Comfortable working across the stack: modern React-based frontends, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, backend services in languages such as C# or similar
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to reason about trade-offs and make actionable decisions
- Care about code quality and maintainability
- Experience writing code that is easy to understand, test, and evolve
- Willingness to participate in design reviews and code reviews
- Ability to work in ambiguous, greenfield projects and help define product direction
