Microsoft Ads is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to build and evolve a foundational platform enabling teams to build with speed, security, and efficiency. The role involves cloud architecture consulting, Infrastructure as Code expertise, and AI tooling to deliver reusable, scalable patterns. Responsibilities include building reusable Terraform and CDKTF/CDKTN modules, consulting on cloud architecture, developing automation and AI-driven interfaces, maintaining AI agents and MCP server integrations, driving security and compliance remediation, owning observability and deployment tooling, designing scalable CI/CD pipelines, writing documentation, and contributing to platform strategy. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or 6+ years experience, 4+ years experience with Microsoft Azure and Terraform, experience managing globally distributed, highly available systems, proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, programming experience with CI/CD, practical AI agent experience, strong communication skills, and a growth mindset. Additional experience with Kubernetes, AKS, observability tools, compliance environments, and cloud cost optimization is required. The position is full-time, hybrid, and located in Redmond, WA; Mountain View, CA; and New York, NY. Salary ranges from $119,800 to $234,700 annually across the U.S., with higher ranges in the San Francisco Bay and New York City areas.
