Full job description

Seeking a senior QA Automation Engineer with 8+ years experience in UI and API automation using Selenium and Python/J2EE. Requires expertise in test validation via API or databases (Snowflake, HIVE, AWS Athena), frontend and backend web application testing, and experience in fast-paced environments. Must have strong Python skills, knowledge of Robot Framework, Git workflows, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and familiarity with Atlassian tools. Desirable skills include Kafka, Elasticsearch, SQL/NoSQL databases, other automation frameworks (Appium, Cucumber), and container solutions. Responsibilities include developing and improving automation frameworks, performing automated frontend and backend tests, mentoring QA engineers, collaborating on CI/CD integration, and ensuring high product quality through rigorous testing. Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

What you'll do

  • Perform automated tests covering frontend/UI and backend/API, analyze results, report defects
  • Continuously improve test automation strategy to enhance coverage and efficiency
  • Develop automation frameworks to meet business requirements and improve performance/usability
  • Automate tests to ensure functional requirements and performance KPIs are met
  • Ensure high product quality through rigorous functional and API level tests
  • Understand business requirements independently and cooperatively
  • Mentor and guide other QA engineers on test automation best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipeline
  • Architect, design, and implement reliable and scalable automation framework for machine learning platform
  • Develop comprehensive test plans covering business use cases and test cases
  • Identify, document, and track bugs thoroughly
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
  • 8+ years experience with UI Automation tools such as Selenium and API automation
  • 5+ years experience with Python and/or J2EE or equivalent OO paradigm
  • Experience automating test validation via API or databases using Snowflake, HIVE, or AWS Athena
  • Web application testing experience in frontend and backend validations
  • Experience in fast-paced technology environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Robot Framework and its Python libraries
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming
  • Knowledge of Git workflows including branching, merging, conflict resolution
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile testing methodologies
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence preferred
  • Knowledge of Kafka, Elasticsearch, SQL/NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Thrift, CI, AWS highly desirable
  • Knowledge of other test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber is a plus
  • Experience with container-based solutions is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
