Full job description

Microsoft Advertising is hiring Senior or Principal Product Managers for two roles focused on Diagnostics and Keywords. The Diagnostics role leads development of intelligent diagnostics experiences to help advertisers identify and resolve campaign issues using AI and heuristics. The Keywords role leads AI-powered keyword intelligence, recommendations, and planning to help advertisers discover demand and build campaigns. Responsibilities include product leadership, AI solution definition, metrics ownership, customer advocacy, cross-functional execution, and go-to-market leadership. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years product management experience in digital advertising products, with preferred qualifications including 8+ years experience, product launch experience, strong analytical skills (SQL/KQL), and experience building AI-powered or agentic experiences. Salary ranges from $119,800 to $304,200 depending on level and location. Locations include Mountain View, CA; Redmond, WA; and New York, NY.

What you'll do

  • Develop and communicate the strategy and roadmap for Diagnostics Experiences or Keyword Intelligence, Recommendations, and Agentic Planning across Microsoft’s advertising ecosystem.
  • Determine the right solution for each experience using heuristic rules, agentic, MCP-connected, or model-driven approaches ensuring accuracy, explainability, and responsible AI principles.
  • Own success metrics end to end and decide where/how experiences surface across the advertiser journey to maximize engagement and efficiency.
  • Represent the product to customers, understand their needs, and champion those needs internally to improve advertiser trust, transparency, and confidence.
  • Navigate ambiguity, make prioritization decisions, and balance short-term impact with long-term AI investments while driving alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts with marketing and sales to ensure launches drive adoption, customer value, and measurable advertiser impact.
  • Diagnostics focus: Diagnose root causes of campaign performance issues, define important checks and signals, and leverage AI to check, explain, and fix issues.
  • Keywords focus: Understand diverse keyword scenarios, apply AI to identify monetization and growth opportunities, generate actionable narratives, and power agentic multi-turn planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management including experience developing digital advertising products, especially demand/buying side features such as optimization, targeting, bidding & budget and conversion tracking OR equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management including experience developing digital advertising products, especially demand/buying side features such as optimization, targeting, bidding & budget and conversion tracking OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (design, product-market fit, and launch).
  • 5+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience (growing adoption, engagement, customer retention, or business impact).
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with data — able to dig into datasets, form hypotheses, validate root causes, and translate findings into product decisions (SQL/KQL or equivalent a plus).
  • Experience building AI-powered or agentic experiences (LLMs, agent frameworks, or recommendation/guidance systems), including defining success metrics and running evaluations for non-deterministic systems.
  • Experience using customer insights and experimentation, and collaborating across Design, Engineering, and Data Science to deliver customer-facing products.
