Full job description

Kevel is hiring a Platform Engineer to build and operate infrastructure, tooling, and services supporting engineering teams. The role involves building self-service platform capabilities, improving developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines, defining reliability targets, solving security and operational issues, automating manual tasks, operating production infrastructure, leading incident responses, and providing internal support. Candidates must have strong software engineering experience, at least 3 years running production workloads in GCP (AWS a plus), experience with container orchestration, Datadog or similar monitoring, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines. The position is full-time, hybrid or remote within Portugal, with a salary range of €60,000 to €68,000 annually. What you'll do

  • Build and evolve self-service platform capabilities for product teams
  • Own and improve developer tooling, CI/CD, and golden paths for engineers
  • Work with engineering teams to define reliability targets, solve security and reliability issues, and improve observability
  • Embed in engineering teams to solve acute operational issues
  • Evaluate services for production readiness
  • Automate time-consuming manual tasks
  • Operate production infrastructure
  • Lead incident responses and ensure full resolution
  • Lead by example to improve platform and reliability practices
  • Administer shared vendored products and provide internal support
  • Participate in on-call rotations for out-of-hours support

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering experience
  • Experience operating production systems at scale
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or developer tooling
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience running production workloads in GCP (AWS experience a plus)
  • Container orchestration
  • Datadog (or similar logging/monitoring platform)
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong written English
