Full job description

Moloco is hiring a senior software engineer to design, develop, and maintain the backend of the Moloco Commerce Media product, an ML-based online advertising platform for retail media. The role involves full-stack development (React/TypeScript frontend, Go/Python/Java backend), system design, feature development, testing, and maintenance. The engineer will mentor team members, lead projects, collaborate with PM and data science teams, and operate production systems. Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering experience, full-stack skills, experience with LLM-based applications, cloud and big data platforms, and a track record of shipping customer-facing products. What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend of Moloco Commerce Media product
  • Develop ML-based online advertising platform for retail media industry
  • Lead feature development, design, optimization, testing, and maintenance of software applications
  • Mentor team members and lead high-impact projects
  • Design and ship software for campaign management using natural language interfaces and intelligent automation
  • Build customer-facing applications combining LLM capabilities with backend systems
  • Own full stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Go/Python/Java backend, and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with PM, data science, and partner teams to shape product direction
  • Operate built systems including dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and on-call rotation
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
  • Prototype and explore advanced analytics, creative reporting, and new AI capabilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Full-stack development experience
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications (agents, tool use, prompt engineering, or similar)
  • System design and development skills from requirements gathering to production
  • Experience in Cloud/Big Data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCE, GCP, Beam, Spark, BigTable, BigQuery)
  • Strong programming fundamentals, testing, and knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Track record of shipping customer-facing products
  • Growth mindset and staying current on emerging technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
