Senior Engineering Manager - Data Delivery

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and senior engineers across two teams
• Own hiring, performance management, and career development
• Establish goals, team rituals, and execution cadences across a distributed organization
• Develop and execute organizational priorities and workforce planning
• Set technical direction and roadmap for frontend platform and data delivery teams
• Guide frontend platform team on UI platform integrity and developer experience
• Drive data delivery team’s architectural strategy and system re-architecture
• Own pipeline reliability, data quality, SLA management, and API layer
• Oversee full-stack delivery including frontend, API, and backend data processing
• Champion engineering best practices: observability, CI/CD, incident management, on-call health, data quality, testing
• Participate in architectural discussions and represent Data Delivery constraints and roadmap
• Partner with Product Management to translate business strategy into engineering roadmaps
• Collaborate with Data Science, Platform Engineering, and commercial teams
• Engage Business Development and commercial stakeholders for partner integrations
• Serve as primary technical voice for Data Delivery with senior leadership
• Drive predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple workstreams
• Own operational reliability including on-call practices, incident response, post-mortems, SLA management
• Define and enforce data quality and observability standards for data pipelines
• Own department budget and drive cloud cost efficiency and resource allocation

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years in engineering management including second-line management
• Strong command of full-stack system design and API design (REST, GraphQL, or equivalent)
• Technical credibility in frontend platform engineering and large-scale data infrastructure
• Experience managing teams with high operational and KTLO load alongside active product delivery
• Proven ability to set and enforce engineering standards: CI/CD, observability, alerting, data quality frameworks, testing coverage
• Ability to establish operational objectives and policies for a department and manage complex multi-team delivery
• Exceptional mentoring and coaching skills for managers and senior engineers
• Outstanding communication skills across all levels
• Preferred: experience in ad tech, data licensing, or media technology
• Preferred: hands-on background building or evolving internal tooling platforms and web applications
• Preferred: experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization, especially Databricks or Spark compute
• Preferred: familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
• Preferred: experience managing geographically distributed teams
