Microsoft is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Global Marketing Data Engineering team. The role involves designing, developing, and owning enterprise-scale marketing data products that support campaign measurement, customer insights, and AI-driven decision making. Responsibilities include building scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and OneLake; implementing semantic models with DAX and Direct Lake; managing data architecture lifecycle including governance and security; collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions; ensuring data quality and compliance; driving CI/CD and DevOps practices; mentoring engineers; and influencing long-term data strategy. Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree with 3+ years or Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in relevant fields or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include 6+ years (Master's) or 8+ years (Bachelor's) experience, data governance expertise, strong analytical and communication skills, and stakeholder management experience. The position is full-time, on-site in Redmond, Washington. Salary ranges from $119,800 to $234,700 annually, with higher ranges for specific metropolitan areas.

Champion data governance, privacy, compliance, and security principles
Mentor and support engineers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing
Influence long-term data strategy with recommendations on emerging technologies and platform modernization

Requirements
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR equivalent experience
Preferred: Master's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years experience OR equivalent experience
2+ years experience with data governance, data compliance and/or data security
Proficient in designing data architectures, data models, and scalable data platforms
Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate technical trade-offs
Effective cross-team and technical communication skills
Experience managing stakeholder priorities and facilitating cooperative decision-making
