Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst based in Los Angeles to support the Global Commercial Finance team. The role focuses on managing the deal lifecycle, collaborating with Sales and cross-functional teams to ensure deal compliance with company policies, applying accounting principles for revenue recognition, and providing financial analyses. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Preferred qualifications include CPA, MBA, and understanding of programmatic advertising. What you'll do

  • Manage deal lifecycle from review and guidance through post-execution support
  • Collaborate with regional Sales team to review and approve deals ensuring alignment with policies and strategic objectives
  • Partner with Legal, Revenue Operations, Revenue Accounting, and FP&A to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Apply accounting principles to assess revenue recognition and financial reporting impacts during deal review
  • Generate margin calculators and financial analyses to assess economic viability of deals
  • Support Sales team with concession requests and regional initiatives
  • Review draft agreements for consistency with approved deal terms
  • Provide post-execution support resolving issues between Sales, Revenue Accounting, and Order Management teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • 5+ years of combined work experience in a deal desk function, accounting/finance, FP&A, or management consulting (Big 4 experience a plus)
  • CPA, MBA, or practical experience in a comparable technical field preferred
  • Understanding of the programmatic advertising landscape and revenue recognition principles preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex topics and modeling to various stakeholders and company leadership
  • Proactive and strategic thinker able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
