Full job description

Zeta Global seeks a Senior Software Developer to work on backend server-side APIs and services for a distributed event pipeline handling tens of thousands of messages per second. The role involves designing, developing, and owning distributed systems for a CRM platform. Candidates must have deep knowledge of distributed systems and cloud architecture, with extensive design and development experience in high-throughput systems. Responsibilities include understanding business requirements, designing and implementing core components, ensuring product quality via code reviews and unit tests, fixing bugs, and owning significant product components. Requirements include 5+ years experience with Python, Ruby, and/or J2EE, strong knowledge of Kafka, Elastic Search, NoSQL databases like Aerospike, Thrift, CI, AWS, and preferably container-based solutions. Strong OOP and design skills, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. A BS or MS in Computer Science or related field is required.

What you'll do

  • Independently and cooperatively understand business requirements, design, and implement core components for real-world marketing automation platform
  • Design and implement application code to satisfy product requirements
  • Ensure high product quality through rigorous code reviews and unit tests
  • Fix bugs and implement enhancements
  • Take ownership of a significant product component in design and implementation

Requirements

  • Superior academic credentials and solid foundation in computer sciences and distributed systems design and development
  • At least 4 years of experience developing scalable, robust software platforms using Java/Ruby/Python or equivalent language
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field from a university where the primary language of instruction is English
  • Strong communication skills in a large-distributed development team environment
  • 5+ years of working experience with Python, Ruby and/or J2EE technology or equivalent OO paradigm
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Kafka, Elastic Search, NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Thrift, CI, and AWS
  • Experience working with container-based solutions is a plus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment
  • Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
