The Research Science team focuses on optimizing software systems in collaboration with infrastructure engineering, machine learning, and data science teams. The Applied Scientist will work on research projects to improve system performance, reduce costs, debug production issues, and stabilize core systems. Responsibilities include evaluating system health, identifying improvements, conducting analyses, implementing algorithms, analyzing large datasets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and improving online prediction systems. Requirements include an advanced degree or relevant industry experience, at least 4 years of applied science or engineering experience, strong communication skills, ability to learn new technical skills, and experience working with cross-functional teams.
