Microsoft Monetization is building AI-powered advertising and commerce experiences across Search, Audience, Shopping, Copilot, and emerging surfaces. The role involves designing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms for advertising systems including Microsoft Ads, Bing, and Copilot. Responsibilities include defining ad relevance problems, improving algorithms using deep learning in NLP and computer vision, deploying scalable solutions, and analyzing model performance. Required qualifications include a degree in a related field with relevant experience, 4+ years developing NLP or computer vision ML systems with deep learning and transformer models, experience with production ML systems in Python or C++, and experience in online advertising. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees and experience with distributed training, agentic AI systems, responsible AI practices, and publications in peer-reviewed AI conferences. The position is full-time, hybrid (office presence expected 4 days/week within 50 miles of a Microsoft hub in the US), senior level, with salary ranges from $119,800 to $234,700 annually (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC). Locations are Redmond, WA and Mountain View, CA.
