The Senior Applied Scientist will design and improve online advertising auctions for Microsoft Advertising. Responsibilities include advancing auction mechanism design, evaluating and improving algorithms, conducting large-scale experiments, and collaborating across teams. Required skills include expertise in mechanism design, A/B experimentation, statistical analysis, data pipeline creation, machine learning, reinforcement learning, optimization, and Azure/Microsoft Data Science tools. Candidates must have a relevant degree and 4+ years of related experience or equivalent. The role is full-time and on-site in Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA. Salary ranges from $119,800 to $234,700 annually, with higher ranges for Bay Area and NYC locations.
