Full job description

The Ads Data Management Platform team seeks an Applied Scientist to improve User Identity graph quality across Microsoft Advertising surfaces, impacting ads personalization, audience targeting, and measurement. The role involves designing and implementing statistical models and data-driven experiments, ensuring data integrity and building predictive models to inform product development. Responsibilities include building expertise in identity graphs, reviewing business requirements, and providing strategic data direction. Required qualifications include a degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with relevant experience, passing Microsoft Cloud background checks, and experience in research and production system deployment. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees and experience with graph-based identity models and matching algorithms. The position is full-time, on-site in Redmond, WA; Mountain View, CA; or New York, NY. Salary ranges from $119,800 to $234,700 annually, higher in Bay Area and NYC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years related experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with 3+ years related experience
  • OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with 1+ year related experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
  • Preferred: Master's Degree with 6+ years related experience or Doctorate with 3+ years related experience
  • 3+ years experience conducting research in academic or industry settings
  • 1+ year experience developing and deploying live production systems as part of a product team
  • 1+ year experience developing and deploying products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle
  • Experience with developing graph based identity models for cross device user stitching
  • Experience applying deterministic and probabilistic matching algorithms to construct large-scale identity graphs
