Full job description

InMobi Advertising is hiring a Tech Lead / SDE IV to lead and grow the Data Engineering team within their Demand-Side Platform (DSP). The role involves designing and delivering scalable data pipelines for real-time bidding intelligence, audience targeting, campaign analytics, and attribution processing billions of bid-stream events daily. Responsibilities include building and maintaining a data lakehouse for analytics and ML feature generation, managing real-time analytical databases, architecting DSP backend microservices, setting API and service reliability standards, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with ML and product teams. Requirements include 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in data engineering or large-scale data systems, expertise in distributed stream processing (Kafka, Flink, Spark), strong SQL skills, experience with real-time analytical databases (StarRocks, ClickHouse), orchestration tools (Airflow), open table formats (Iceberg), proficiency in Python and/or Java/Scala, knowledge of RTB ecosystem and privacy regulations, and leadership experience. The role is full-time based in Lucknow, India.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end data pipelines — batch and real-time — for bid requests, win/loss events, impression logs, click streams, and conversion signals at scale
  • Build and maintain data lakehouse (ingestion → storage → serving) for low-latency DSP analytics and ML feature generation
  • Own StarRocks deployment for real-time analytical queries
  • Drive FinOps discipline and data governance (metadata, PII, GDPR/CCPA)
  • Architect DSP backend microservices — bid shading, pacing, budget management, reporting APIs — and the data contracts between them
  • Set standards for API design, service reliability, and observability
  • Ensure low-latency data reads (Aerospike, Cassandra) for the bidding path
  • Lead architecture reviews
  • Mentor SDE II/III engineers
  • Own the technical roadmap for data infrastructure
  • Partner with ML engineers across feature engineering, training, and model-serving lifecycle

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in data engineering or large-scale data systems
  • Ad-tech, programmatic, or RTB experience strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in distributed stream processing (Kafka, Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming)
  • Strong SQL skills at petabyte scale
  • Hands-on experience with real-time analytical databases (StarRocks, Snowflake, or ClickHouse)
  • Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)
  • Experience with open table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi)
  • Proficiency in Python (primary) and/or Java/Scala
  • Experience with REST/gRPC microservices, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of the RTB ecosystem (OpenRTB, SSPs, ad exchanges), identity resolution (UID2/RampID), and privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA)
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical squads
  • Strong communication skills
  • Track record of shipping from ambiguous requirements to production
