Full job description

InMobi Advertising is seeking a mid-level Sales Manager based in Tokyo, Japan. The role involves building revenue through digital agencies and direct advertiser relationships, managing a business development book for Japan, and collaborating with internal teams including Sales, Product, CSM, Technical Operations, Business Analysts, and Creative Services. Candidates should have 5-8 years of digital advertising sales experience, preferably with programmatic and Ad tech knowledge, strong sales skills, and native-level Japanese. Responsibilities include achieving revenue targets, managing sales pipelines, driving client brief implementations, and orchestrating cross-functional support to meet client needs. Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint is required. The position is full-time and on-site in Tokyo.

What you'll do

  • Build revenue through digital agencies and direct advertiser connections in Japan
  • Manage a book of business for Japan Business Development
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, CSM, Technical Operations, Business Analysts, and Creative Services
  • Understand complex problems and identify multiple solutions
  • Develop close strategic relationships with clients through programmatic ads
  • Operate with high autonomy and manage sales pipeline
  • Consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets
  • Build relationships with agencies and new/existing accounts
  • Drive implementation of client briefs and concepts with internal teams
  • Orchestrate cross-functional support to ensure ad campaigns meet client needs
  • Create and manage a pipeline of sales opportunities

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in digital advertising with individual sales targets and accountability (not mandatory) from a programmatic/Ad tech background
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong sales experience with extensive contacts across Agencies/ATD, DSP, Ad-Tech and/or Advertisers
  • Excellent communication and analytical mindset with strong understanding of the digital ad marketplace
  • Native level Japanese required, business-level English preferred
  • Prior client-facing experience owning revenue management for a product/business line/account/geography
  • Ability to work across different global cultures and in a matrix-style environment
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Basic to medium proficiency in Adtech ecosystem including ad exchanges/networks, DSPs, 1st and 3rd party audience targeting, ad-operations, delivery, and measurement platforms preferred
