Seeking a Sales Excellence Manager to maximize effectiveness of SMB Advertising Sales team. Role involves strategic planning, business partnership, sales motion enablement, coaching, analytics, process discipline, and program management. Requires 4+ years in sales or related fields, 3+ years using data for business decisions, and managing stakeholder relationships. Preferred qualifications include bachelor's degree, project and change management experience, understanding of online advertising, and strategic business planning skills. Salary ranges from $106,400 to $203,600 annually, higher in SF Bay Area and NYC. On-site work expected within 50 miles of designated Microsoft US offices.

What you'll do

  • Drive sales growth through business and portfolio planning, analyzing market outlook and leveraging business insights
  • Support integration, alignment, and execution of defined plans
  • Enable sales teams to execute strategies for opportunity management including up-sell, cross-sell, renewal, and recapture
  • Contribute to operationalizing prioritized sales plans and industry solutions
  • Identify opportunities to generate new business and accelerate closing of existing opportunities
  • Coach and build relationships with sales team on executing key priorities
  • Engage sales managers to become more effective coaches to front-line sellers
  • Help sales team achieve increased individual and team knowledge, sales capability, and collaborative selling efforts
  • Optimize sales team processes and utilization of sales tools and reporting
  • Contribute to analytics on key revenue drivers by vertical/product/geo
  • Leverage reporting and analytical capabilities to generate data-based insights and enable visibility into revenue and forecast
  • Instill process discipline, consistency, adherence to standards and excellence in execution
  • Hold sales managers accountable for account plan quality, completeness, and pipeline health
  • Represent as an internal advocate and extension of Sales leadership
  • Advise on and contribute to business management aspects such as employee engagement, resource allocation, change management, and building high-performing teams
  • Lead and/or participate in design, build, launch, and run of global strategic programs
  • Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in sales, sales operations/management, account management, program management, business development, marketing, consulting, or a related field OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience using data to drive business outcomes or inform business decisions
  • 3+ years of experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years managing projects, including planning, managing timelines, and tracking progress, and/or change management experience (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of the online advertising ecosystem (preferred)
  • 4+ years managing programs across a matrixed stakeholder set, including planning, managing timelines, tracking progress, and change management experience (preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience with data-based storytelling that has impacted organizational strategy (preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in strategic business planning, including market analysis, resource modeling, and service level definition (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience developing incentive or performance acceleration programs with measurable uplift in key metrics (preferred)
