GumGum is hiring a Sales Director responsible for prospecting and closing sales in the advertising platform. The role reports to a Group Sales Director and focuses on leading and developing key relationships in an allocated region to drive revenue and grow business. Requires minimum 5 years of digital advertising sales experience, managing a large book of business (4M+), strong sales track record, and leadership experience. Responsibilities include driving revenue of 5M+ annually, sales prospecting, upselling clients, relationship development, translating client insights to product teams, internal collaboration, and strategic sales execution. Skills needed include proficiency in SalesForce, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, strong communication, problem solving, business acumen, and adaptability. What you'll do

  • Drive revenue for allocated region with a book of business of at least 5M+ annually
  • Partner with agencies and brands to grow business across accounts year over year
  • Identify and qualify opportunities from marketing-driven leads
  • Generate high volume of sales activity including cold calling, presentations, RFPs, and creative sales solutions
  • Upsell current clients in current and new products, including in-image and in-video display vertical
  • Support rollout of new products (e.g., Verity) and provide market insights
  • Cultivate relationships with brands, agency contacts, and clients to understand their business
  • Translate client insights to internal product teams
  • Collaborate internally with Account Managers and other teams to ensure successful implementation of sold proposals
  • Develop, manage, and execute strategic sales opportunities with support from sales leaders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Media or Marketing/Advertising field
  • Minimum 5 years of selling experience in digital advertising sales in the industry (publisher or tech sales)
  • Experience managing a large book of business (4M+)
  • Strong selling experience and track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience leading small sales teams with a track record of success
  • Programmatic experience is a plus
  • Proficient in SalesForce (logging meetings, calls, pulling reports)
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Uses Seller Crowd and checks trades for account updates
  • Strong and strategic relationship building with clients
  • Attention to detail and organization in daily tasks
  • Quick problem solving internally and externally while managing stakeholders
  • Fundamental understanding of business drivers (P/L, Operating Statement, COGS, Revenue)
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions independently
  • Highly motivated, hungry, and passionate about the product
  • Outgoing with ability to build and maintain/grow client relationships at all levels
  • Proactive approach with a sense of urgency
  • Flexible and able to adjust quickly to changing demands or strategies
