Full job description

Microsoft AI Monetization seeks a Principal UX Researcher to lead research for AI-powered monetization experiences. The role requires expertise in mixed methods research, driving product strategy through multi-stage research, collaborating across teams, and influencing organizational leadership. Candidates must have a relevant advanced degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years in UX research, strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, experience in B2B and B2C products, AI product experience, and a commitment to accessibility and inclusive design. The position requires passing Microsoft Cloud background checks and working on-site with offices in Mountain View, CA; Redmond, WA; and New York, NY. Salary ranges from $142,800 to $274,800 annually, with higher ranges for specific metropolitan areas.

  • Drive product strategy through rigorous multi-stage research
  • Balance rigor with agility in a fast-moving team

  • Identify new opportunities and generate innovative ideas to improve processes and research approach

Requirements

  • Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field with corresponding years of User Experience Research experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • High level research skills across qualitative and quantitative methods (Mixed Methods researcher)
  • Excellent communication and presentation/storytelling skills
  • Experience working in B2B and B2C product spaces
  • Experience working on AI products
  • Championing fundamentals of user experience including accessibility and inclusive design
  • Experience with commonly used research tools
