Senior Principal Technical Program Manager role at Microsoft Ads Live Marketplace & Forensics team. Lead investigations into marketplace anomalies by analyzing business, advertiser, user, and system data. Perform advanced data analysis across large datasets. Serve as technical and operational lead during high-severity incidents. Coordinate mitigation efforts with cross-functional teams globally. Improve monitoring, anomaly detection, and investigation frameworks. Lead root-cause analyses and post-incident reviews. Influence incident response and operational best practices. Participate in on-call rotation. Mentor other contributors. Requires Bachelor's degree and 6+ years experience in engineering, program management, or data analysis, with 3+ years managing cross-team projects. Preferred 12+ years experience and strong skills in programming (C, C#, C++, ASP.NET, JavaScript), SQL, and analytics tools (Python, R, Excel, Tableau, SAS). Experience in Ad Tech or large-scale online marketplaces preferred. Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check. Salary range USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC). On-site in Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA.

Lead complex, ambiguous investigations into marketplace deviations by analyzing business performance, advertiser behavior, user signals, and system health metrics across the Microsoft Ads ecosystem

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
Preferred: 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering, data analysis, data science, or product development
Preferred: 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team initiatives involving complex systems and multiple stakeholders
Preferred: 5+ years working in web analytics, big data, or data science, preferably within advertising platforms or experimentation-driven environments
Preferred: 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C#, C++, ASP.NET, or JavaScript
Preferred: 5+ years of experience querying large datasets using SQL
Preferred: 5+ years of experience using analytics tools such as Python, R, Excel, Tableau, SAS, or similar technologies
Solid understanding of distributed systems and complex platforms, with a demonstrated service and business operations mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in Advertising Technology (Ad Tech) or other large-scale online marketplace platforms
Experience designing or evolving monitoring systems, anomaly detection frameworks, or live-site operational processes
Proven ability to communicate complex technical findings and recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders
