The Trade Desk seeks a Principal Technical Account Manager to lead strategic agency engagements and manage post-sale technical relationships for top-tier agency accounts. Responsibilities include providing technical consultation, advising on measurement strategies, consulting on client technology stacks, managing project tracking and product prioritization, and leading engineering work for custom AI and agentic workflow solutions. Candidates must have 8+ years in technical client-facing roles, proficiency in Excel, Office, Outlook, and preferably experience with SQL, web technologies, APIs, AI/ML tooling, and agentic platforms. Strong project management, relationship management, and technical consulting skills are required. Experience with digital advertising technology, agency relationships, and measurement tools is essential. What you'll do

  • Manage the post-sale technical relationship for a portfolio of top-tier agency accounts and their brand clients
  • Participate in strategic meetings requiring technical consultation
  • Identify opportunities that solve client business needs and support revenue growth
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on measurement strategy, advising on attribution frameworks, incrementality testing, and cross-channel reporting
  • Consult on clients' technology stacks including data clean rooms, CDPs, and identity solutions
  • Lead development of project tracking and portfolio-specific goals aligned with company vision
  • Define framework for reporting progress with leadership
  • Manage product prioritization reflecting business needs over time
  • Ideate, scope, and program manage engineering work for custom solutions including AI and agentic workflow solutions
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to solve business challenges, identify growth opportunities, and drive efficiency

Requirements

  • 8+ years of work experience in a technical client-facing role
  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel, Office and Outlook
  • Experience with SQL, web technologies/web programming languages, and APIs is strongly preferred
  • Experience with AI/ML tooling or familiarity with agentic platforms is a plus
  • Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fluid, fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with clients, product, and engineering teams
  • Ability to break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with digital advertising technology, agency relationships, and measurement/analytics tools (e.g., MMM, MTA, incrementality)
  • Strong acumen for technical consulting and influencing client technical investments
  • Familiarity with agency operating models
  • Interest in mentoring junior TAMs
  • Expert project/program management skills with superb attention to detail
  • Deep curiosity and working knowledge of AI, agentic workflows, and emerging standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Superior relationship management skills with ability to influence across Commercial and Technical organizations
  • Quickly grasp new technical subjects and explain them clearly
