Microsoft Ads Billing team is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to design and implement infrastructures and services for global advertisers. Responsibilities include owning critical product and platform areas, setting technical and quality standards, designing reliable developer and advertiser experiences, using data and feedback for iteration, collaborating across teams, influencing architecture and engineering standards, and acting as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for system monitoring and incident response. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree with 8+ years experience or Bachelor's with 10+ years, hands-on experience with AI agents/MCPs in production, experience building customer-facing developer products, strong product mindset, solid engineering fundamentals, and experience with system design, performance, and debugging in complex environments. The role requires passing Microsoft Cloud background checks. Locations: Beijing, China and Suzhou, China.
