The Data Management Platform (DMP) team in Microsoft AI (MAI) is hiring a Principal Software Engineer in Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA. The role involves leading architecture for complex product designs, driving experiments, collaborating with partner teams for integration and testing, mentoring engineers on test strategies, enforcing security best practices, driving automation, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards, and conducting code reviews. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Candidates must pass Microsoft Cloud background checks. The role is full-time and on-site with a salary range of $142,800 to $274,800 annually in general US locations and $188,000 to $304,200 in the SF Bay Area and NYC. Develop and improve software engineering tools and advocate for reuse of internal or open-source solutions
Collaborate with partner teams to ensure seamless integration, testing, live-site readiness, and escalation paths before launch
Conduct timely code reviews that ensure quality, test coverage, security, and adherence to best practices, providing coaching
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
