Lead the Advertising Insight Sharing (AIS) program focusing on risk management, data governance, and technology for Amazon Ads globally. Own and evolve data governance frameworks, risk frameworks, and AI-enabled tooling for insight disclosure decisioning. Drive technical strategy for data governance, including classification, access policies, lineage tracking, and sharing agreements. Oversee data integration pipelines and ensure privacy, security, and governance standards. Deploy AI/ML solutions for risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and automation. Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to manage governance, legal, and compliance requirements. Requires 10+ years in risk management, data governance, or data privacy/protection with technical experience, knowledge of advertising technologies, AI/ML, and strong communication skills. Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Salary range $144,200 - $195,000 annually in Seattle, WA. What you'll do
- Own and evolve the AIS data governance framework, including data classification, access policies, lineage tracking, and sharing agreements
- Review incoming requests against program guardrails, Amazon policies, business requirements, and quality standards
- Define and maintain risk appetite, control frameworks, and escalation processes for insight sharing globally
- Engage with senior leaders to communicate proposals, data governance requirements, and risk trade-offs
- Provide governance oversight of data integration pipelines assessing data flows between internal systems, third-party platforms, and external partners
- Partner with Engineering and Data Platform teams to define technical standards for data quality, metadata management, and integration security
- Evaluate and influence architecture of data sharing mechanisms to ensure privacy-by-design and governance-by-default
- Drive adoption of automated data cataloging, lineage, and monitoring tools
- Partner with Engineering teams to identify and deploy AI/ML-powered solutions for risk assessment, anomaly detection, and compliance monitoring
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies for applicability and risk implications in advertising data and insight delivery
- Build frameworks for responsible AI governance ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability
- Partner with applied science and engineering teams to integrate intelligent decisioning tools
- Guide internal customers to solve external customer problems while ensuring governance, legal, and compliance requirements are met
- Innovate to enhance decision quality, reduce decision time, and improve self-service capabilities
- Partner with Amazon business leadership and teams outside Amazon Ads to implement data disclosure requirements and manage business risks globally
- Partner with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, PR, and InfoSec teams to navigate regulatory dynamics and evolving data protection requirements
Requirements
- Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent, or experience in information security and compliance
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience complex litigation, including independently developing case theory and making high-stakes judgment calls
- Experience with and deep understanding of advertising technologies (i.e., ad server, DSP)
- 10+ years of experience in risk management, data governance, or data privacy/protection, with at least 5 years in roles involving technical data systems, integrations, or platform architecture
- Demonstrated expertise in data governance frameworks, data classification, lineage, and metadata management
- Preferred: Experience with data analysis and business case development, and managing programs from concept to implementation
- Preferred: 5+ years of digital media/marketing strategy, data analysis, and data analytics/visualization experience
- Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Preferred: Experience in Advertising Technology (AdTech) or Marketing Technology (MarTech) data governance
- Preferred: Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, and emerging regulations around automated decision-making
- Preferred: Certifications in data governance (CDMP, DGSP), privacy (CIPP/CIPM), or cloud architecture
