Full job description

Viant is seeking a Principal Product Manager (Technical) to lead product development and delivery for audience planning, activation, and optimization solutions within the Viant DSP platform. Responsibilities include owning product strategy, roadmap, and execution; leading end-to-end product management; collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers; managing dependencies and deliverables; researching competitive DSP market offerings; and communicating KPIs to stakeholders. Requirements include 7+ years product management experience, 2+ years in online advertising, strong problem-solving and communication skills, understanding of product discovery and delivery, experience with audience and data products, and familiarity with ad tech including DSP, SSP, DMP, real-time bidding, and identity management. AI/ML knowledge is a plus. Benefits include fully paid health insurance, paid parental leave, and unlimited PTO. Salary range is $200,000 to $230,000. Location: Irvine, California.

What you'll do

  • Own and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution to deliver products to market
  • Lead end-to-end product management efforts for Viant DSP's suite of audience and data products
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to identify pain points and opportunities
  • Build differentiated requirements and own the roadmap for audience and data products within Viant DSP's self-serve media buying platform
  • Manage dependencies within the technical environment and track development work against deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continually ship functionality to successful outcomes
  • Generate strategic and innovative product ideas and drive implementation
  • Perform in-depth research on competitive offerings within the DSP market
  • Effectively communicate relevant KPIs to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a product manager
  • 2+ years of online advertising experience
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound judgement and data-informed narratives
  • Understanding of product discovery and product delivery techniques and methods
  • Proven ability to engage constructively with engineers, designers, and company leaders
  • Experience with audience planning, activation and optimization solutions in online media and advertising
  • Ad Tech experience or understanding of Ad Networks, Exchanges, Real-time Bidding, Programmatic, DSP, SSP, DMP, onboarding and Identity Management preferred
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, agentic systems, and optimizing workflows is a plus
