Full job description

Microsoft AI is seeking a Principal Product Manager for MAI Monetization to develop AI-powered advertising and monetization products. The role involves owning product areas, understanding user needs, defining requirements, managing product development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, with preferred qualifications including 12+ years experience, 7+ years building Ads products, 5+ years in AI consumer products and monetization, and strong skills in SQL, Python, and Javascript. The position is full-time, on-site in Mountain View, CA or Redmond, WA, with a salary range of $139,900 to $274,800 annually, higher in certain metro areas. Responsibilities include driving AI application development, translating business goals into product strategy, and measuring success with data and experiments.

  • Drive building world-class AI applications that will delight consumers and deliver business results
  • Own a product area and be responsible for understanding user needs and behaviors, defining product requirements, managing end-to-end product development, launches and iterations
  • Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks to get your work into the hands of users quickly and iteratively
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-first, product development cycle
  • Translate business goals into strategy, user experience and technical requirements in close collaboration with Applied Science, Data Science, Engineering, UX and Product Marketing/Sales teams
  • Define goals and performance indicators, set up and oversee experiments, measure success with data and research

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience building Ads products
  • 5+ years of building AI consumer products
  • 5+ years of experience in monetization products and B2B
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines
  • Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team
  • 2+ years experience leading cross functional product teams across advertising, privacy, search, conversational AI, or generative AI
  • 5+ years experience delivering products that include full Search and/or Advertising technology stack
  • 5+ years experience with data analytics and experimentation tools with working knowledge of SQL and coding skills (Python, Javascript)
