Microsoft Advertising seeks a Principal Customer Solutions Architect for Ads Regulatory Compliance to lead strategic frameworks translating regulatory, legal, policy, and trust requirements into scalable operational and technical solutions. The role partners with Product, Engineering, Legal, Trust & Safety, Operations, Data Science, Business Planning, and Executive Leadership to align on complex initiatives. Responsibilities include designing governance models, readiness frameworks, risk taxonomies, and decision processes; identifying regulatory trends; driving cross-organizational programs balancing customer experience, business outcomes, platform capabilities, operational scalability, risk management, and regulatory obligations; developing executive narratives and strategic roadmaps; creating mechanisms for regulatory intake and continuous improvement; advising senior stakeholders; and building partnerships across global teams. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 6+ years technical program/product management experience, 4+ years customer-facing experience, and 1+ year people management experience. Preferred qualifications include 12+ years experience, 5+ years customer-facing, 3+ years people management, experience leading large-scale cross-functional programs, strategy and governance expertise, ability to influence without authority, experience in regulated industries and compliance domains, strong communication skills, and passion for solving complex regulatory and trust challenges. The role is full-time, on-site, with locations in multiple U.S. cities. Salary ranges from $142,800 to $274,800 annually, with higher ranges in San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
What you'll do
- Lead development of strategic frameworks translating regulatory, legal, policy, and trust requirements into scalable operational and technical solutions
- Partner across Product, Engineering, CELA, Trust & Safety, Operations, Data Science, Business Planning, and Executive Leadership to align on complex initiatives
- Design and mature governance models, readiness frameworks, risk taxonomies, decision processes, and operating mechanisms
- Identify emerging regulatory trends, industry developments, and market risks
- Drive cross-organizational programs balancing customer experience, business outcomes, platform capabilities, operational scalability, risk management, and regulatory obligations
- Develop executive-level narratives, recommendations, decision frameworks, and strategic roadmaps
- Create mechanisms for regulatory intake, prioritization, implementation planning, readiness reviews, measurement, and continuous improvement
- Act as strategic advisor to senior stakeholders simplifying complex problems and navigating uncertainty
- Build partnerships across regional and global teams to ensure scalable, adaptable solutions aligned to diverse markets
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field OR equivalent experience
- 6+ years experience in technical program/product management, coding, software development/delivery work
- 4+ years of customer-facing experience
- 1+ year people management experience
- Preferred: 12+ years experience in technical program/product management, coding, software development/delivery work
- Preferred: 5+ years of customer-facing experience
- Preferred: 3+ years people management experience
- Experience leading large-scale cross-functional programs
- Experience driving strategy, governance, compliance, trust & safety, risk management, platform operations, policy implementation
