Microsoft Ads seeks a Principal Applied Scientist to advance research and product impact in ad retrieval, matching, ranking, and generation systems. Responsibilities include developing and productionizing machine learning models (SLMs, LLMs, LRMs), improving the Ads ranking platform, providing technical leadership, and collaborating across teams. Candidates must have a relevant degree with 6+ years experience (or equivalent), expertise in ML model training and inference optimization, experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face, TensorFlow), and a proven record of shipping large-scale models. Security screening and Microsoft Cloud background check required.
