Full job description

Senior Marketing Engineer role owning Samba's marketing systems including website, martech stack, marketing data layer, and AI tooling. Reports to Marketing, collaborates with Data Science, Revenue Operations, and Engineering. Responsibilities include managing marketing automation platforms (Claude, HubSpot, Demandbase, Salesforce, Clay, Google Analytics, Gong), optimizing Salesforce integrations, leading vendor evaluations, building AI-powered marketing knowledge base, owning samba.com engineering and A/B testing, ensuring trustworthy marketing data and dashboards, partnering with Data Science and RevOps for data consistency, and enabling AI adoption in marketing workflows. Requirements: 5+ years combining software engineering with marketing/growth engineering, experience with marketing automation platforms and production code (JavaScript/TypeScript, modern web frameworks, backend language), fluent in SQL and BI tools, Salesforce practitioner knowledge, experience building LLM-based production tools, and ability to work as sole engineer in marketing team. Bonus: experience in B2B SaaS, ad-tech, mar-tech, media measurement, first marketing engineer at growth-stage company, familiarity with CDPs, attribution modeling, identity resolution, and portfolio of internal tools or AI workflows.

What you'll do

  • Own the marketing automation platform end-to-end including lead lifecycle, scoring, routing, suppression, deliverability, compliance
  • Work with RevOps and Growth Marketing to optimize Marketing and Salesforce integrations
  • Lead vendor evaluations, rationalize the martech stack, and decide build vs. buy
  • Build an AI-powered marketing knowledge base for employees
  • Engineering ownership of samba.com including performance, SEO, accessibility, and component system
  • Run A/B testing on landing pages, forms, and conversion paths
  • Enable Growth Marketing to ship campaign landing pages quickly
  • Own marketing's tracking plan and events flowing into the data warehouse
  • Build and maintain leadership dashboards for pipeline, channel ROI, content performance, funnel health
  • Partner with Data Science and RevOps to ensure data consistency across exec decks, Salesforce, and warehouse
  • Ensure Marketing team is on the cutting edge of AI, prompt-engineering campaigns, testing agents, and shipping AI-powered work
  • Turn marketing-created AI tools into widely adopted internal apps
  • Act as the technical force multiplier to increase Marketing team production

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience combining software engineering with marketing or growth engineering
  • Ownership experience of a marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Marketo, or comparable)
  • Experience shipping production code in JavaScript/TypeScript, modern web frameworks, and at least one back-end language
  • Fluent in SQL and experienced with BI tools, able to build dashboards and explain methodology to non-technical leaders
  • Practical experience with Salesforce, understanding leads, contacts, accounts, and opportunities
  • Built something with an LLM in production (agent, evaluation pipeline, workflow tool) and able to discuss outcomes
  • Comfortable being the sole engineer in a Marketing team and translating between disciplines
