Full job description
FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive the technical direction of the Buyer Cloud Ad Serving platform. This role involves leading architecture for scalable, low-latency backend services processing billions of ad auctions daily. Responsibilities include leading architecture design, driving multi-team initiatives on reliability and scalability, optimizing system performance, partnering with cross-functional teams, establishing engineering best practices, and mentoring engineers. Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 13+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a lead role, expert proficiency in C++, Go, Java, or Rust, experience with large-scale distributed systems, deep systems engineering knowledge, and cloud-native service development experience. Bonus points for experience with ultra-low-latency real-time decisioning systems, petabyte-scale datasets, distributed datastores, and modernizing legacy architectures. The position is full-time, located in Englewood, Colorado or Sunnyvale, California, with salary ranges $160,106.35 - $240,159.53 (Colorado) and $130,996.11 - $242,585.38 (California).
