FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive the technical direction of the Buyer Cloud Ad Serving platform. This role involves leading architecture of scalable, low-latency backend services processing billions of ad auctions daily. Responsibilities include leading platform reliability initiatives, optimizing distributed workflows, partnering with cross-functional teams, establishing engineering best practices, and mentoring engineers. Requirements include 13+ years software engineering experience with 2+ years in lead roles, expert proficiency in C++, Go, Java, or Rust, experience with large-scale distributed systems, concurrency, Linux performance profiling, and cloud-native services (AWS, Kubernetes, ECS). Bonus points for experience in ultra-low-latency real-time systems, petabyte-scale datasets, distributed datastores, and modernizing legacy architectures. The position is full-time, located in Englewood, Colorado and Sunnyvale, California. Salary ranges from $160,106.35 to $240,159.53 in Colorado and $130,996.11 to $242,585.38 in California.
