Full job description

Responsible for planning, designing, and developing new software and web applications. Analyze, test, and assist with integration of new applications. Oversee documentation of development activities and train junior engineers. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and develop update processes. Provide technical leadership and mentorship. Track performance metrics and ensure timely delivery within budget. Work with Quality Assurance to verify application specifications. Act as technical liaison for vendors and customers. Present and defend technical decisions. Requires 10+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

What you'll do

  • Plan and design new software and web applications
  • Analyze, test, and assist with integration of new applications
  • Oversee documentation of development activities
  • Train junior Software Development Engineers
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements
  • Develop software update processes and assist in software release roll-outs
  • Research and evaluate technological developments and competitive products
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship
  • Track and evaluate performance metrics to ensure timely delivery within budget
  • Work with Quality Assurance to verify application specifications
  • Act as technical contact and liaison for vendors and customers
  • Present and defend architectural and technical decisions
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility for work schedule
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with software and web application design and development
  • Ability to analyze, test, and assist with integration of new applications
  • Experience documenting development activities and writing technical documentation
  • Ability to train junior engineers
  • Experience tracking and evaluating performance metrics
  • Ability to work with Quality Assurance teams
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary
